Initial Consultation
We offer initial orthodontic consultations at no charge, allowing you to easily discover how orthodontics can enhance your smile. As well, orthodontic recall appointments for young children are usually also no charge as we watch their teeth and jaws develop. At the initial consultation, the patient's facial and oral structures, as well as the teeth themselves, will be evaluated for any alignment or biting problems. Thorough explanation will be given of the situation and the options that are available. The timing of treatment will also be discussed. If necessary, there will be a fee for any records taken. These fees will be discussed thoroughly. The dentist will be given a report of Dr. Hechler's findings and will be kept updated throughout the orthodontic treatment. The fees for any suggested orthodontic treatment will be explained in detail. Any questions that the patient or parent has will be answered in an understandable manner.


Office Conveniences
To make your orthodontic visits more enjoyable, we offer the following items:

BEEPERS to allow parents the freedom to run errands or shop while their child has longer appointments.

APPOINTMENT CONFIRMATION the night before your scheduled visit.

COMPUTER IMAGING to see your teeth and the changes needed. A copy can be given to the patient.

CHILDREN'S PLAY AREA to keep the little ones happy while a parent or sibling has an appointment.

SATURDAY APPOINTMENTS available as well as noon.

TELEPHONE for patient use in the reception room. Many large, living room style chairs are placed in the reception rooms for added comfort.

LABORATORY IN HOUSE for fabrication of retainers and orthodontic appliances in our office. Quality control and repairs are enhanced.

VIDEO GAMES at each treatment chair.

DRAWING FOR PRIZES throughout the year.

TOOTHBRUSHING STATION stocked with toothbrushes, toothpaste and mouthwash for your use.

Sterilization
Our office practices excellence in instrument sterilization. This is an important part of your treatment, and we value the trust that you place in us regarding sterility. All of the sterilization standards of the American Dental Association are met or exceeded by our office. This includes heat sterilization. New gloves are worn for each patient, and all instruments are sterilized in between patients. Disposable items are used whenever possible. We would be happy to discuss our sterilization procedures with you and show you our sterilization facilities.

Financial Policy
Fees for orthodontic treatment vary depending upon what is needed. We feel that financial concerns should not stand in the way of an outstanding smile. The fee for your individualized treatment will be thoroughly discussed, and a payment plan established without interest. Various payment plans can be utilized from payment in full at treatment initiation to an extended plan over a few years. For your convenience, we also accept MasterCard and Visa. Many insurance plans now cover orthodontic care.

Insurance
Michele, our Insurance Coordinator, will be happy to help you with your insurance needs. We will take care of all the necessary paperwork and attach the appropriate documentation so that you receive your full orthodontic insurance benefit. Michele can check with your insurance company, if necessary, to find the amount of coverage you may have and the way in which that benefit is paid. We suggest you bring your dental insurance form or card with you when you come to our office.
